In a challenging market, luxury department store chain De Bijenkorf still managed to increase its sales and profits last year. A strong focus on service led to higher conversion, while costs fell.
“The very best service”
De Bijenkorf’s sales increased by 1 % in 2024, while its operating profit quadrupled to 28 million euros. The retailer is doing better than many of its competitors, as the luxury department store market experienced a 1.6 % decline last year, according to figures from sector federation IADS.
