A stronger focus on cost savings and productivity is paying off for HelloFresh: despite falling sales, profitability has increased. Factor, the prepared meals division, also performed strongly.
Efficiency before growth
HelloFresh’s first-quarter sales fell 8.3% to 1.9 billion euros, and the number of orders fell by almost 12%. Still, the meal-kit supplier is satisfied: adjusted EBITDA rose to 58.1 million euros from 16.8 million euros last year. Sales of the ready meals division under the Factor brand rose 10.5% to 94.3 million euro.
