Ahold Delhaize has appointed Tim Bork, former purchasing director at Lidl, as its new Chief Commercial Officer for Europe & Indonesia. He promises to put his ‘affordability DNA’ to use at his new employer.
Twenty years of experience
From today, Bork will report to Claude Sarrailh, who has been CEO of Ahold Delhaize Europe & Indonesia for a year. He will be responsible for shaping and driving commercial and value chain development at European level, the press release says. In doing so, he will streamline processes, reduce costs and focus on economies of scale.
The German has held several managerial positions at Lidl and boasts more than twenty years of experience in international food retail. His most recent position was as purchasing director at the discounter, responsible for the procurement of both private label and branded products. He says he wants to create new opportunities for innovation and collaboration by combining his growth mindset with ‘affordability DNA’.
